George Westerman

Principal Research Scientist, MIT Open Learning

George Westerman works at the intersection of executive leadership and technology strategy. During more than 18 years with MIT Sloan School of Management, he has written three award-winning books, including Leading Digital: Turning Technology Into Business Transformation.

As a pioneering researcher on digital transformation, George has published papers in Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, and other top journals. He is now focused on helping organizations to rethink the process of workforce learning around the world.

Vijay Kumar

Senior Advisor

Vijay Kumar provides leadership for sustainable, technology-enabled educational innovation at MIT. He is a member of the MIT OpenCourseWare (OCW) advisory committee, an executive officer for MIT’s Council on Educational Technology, and a member of the steering committee for I-Campus, the MIT-Microsoft alliance.

Steve Nelson

Senior Manager, MIT Open Learning

Steve is passionate about education and learning, having spent the last few years working to improve workplace learning in the corporate world, he is now focused on helping find research solutions to solve all education issues, from K12, Higher Ed, and Workplace Learning. Steve works with research partners on the campus of MIT to facilitate transformational learning objectives and create educational best practices.

Luanne Santiago

Project Coordinator

Luanne is the Onsite Project Coordinator based in the Philippines. She is working with various partners in the Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Development Alliance (AMDev) to enhance the skills of workers to adapt to the everchanging development of technology. With her vast experience in dealing with a broad range of partners, from national government officials and high-ranking executives to members of communities, Luanne collaborates with various stakeholders to promote the Global Opportunity Forum in the Asia-Pacific region.

Michael Dedek

Communications and Curriculum Specialist

Michael has designed and taught writing courses at multiple universities for the last sixteen years, focusing on readying students to be effective writers and critical thinkers in their careers. He brings his expertise as a writer and educator to the GOF.

Eugene Park

Data Scientist

Eugene Park is a Data Scientist who serves as a technical lead on the AMPath project, where he is working on investigating career mobility using network-based models to better understand potential career paths to advanced manufacturing occupations. Before Open Learning, Eugene worked as a research assistant at MIT Sloan School of Management and received undergraduate degrees in mathematics and economics at Boston College and master’s degree in mathematics at NYU Courant.

Hyun (Erin) Kim

Assistant Research Scientist

Erin Kim is an undergraduate researcher working on data analysis for the AMPath project, where she examines employment and employee data to identify upskilling paths for advanced manufacturing careers. She is currently an MIT sophomore majoring in 6-4 (Artificial Intelligence and Decision Making) and is involved in clubs such as HackMIT, Undergraduate Society of Women in Math, and MIT Sport Taekwondo.
